How many different driveshafts are there?

I'm on the lookout for a set of 22 spline shafts, so far I've managed to find some with 28 splines and some with 24 (I counted the splines about 10 times to make sure!)
How many different shafts is there?. I never thought it would be this hard to find a set of shafts:eek:

I always remember on the nova all the novas under 1.6 had 22 splines and gte's had 28 splines :thumb:

I've have got 3 sets now, 1 from a 1.2, 1 from a gte and the origional set from my own car that was a 1.4sr and non have 22 splines!!!

you have to remove the outer contant velocity joint and count the splines on the drive shaft centre section

all outer will be 28 spline

its the inner that matters gte normally have 22 spline , some gsi and td will have aswell

you can tell by looking at the joints anyway no need to take apart

thats a pic of a 22 spline inner cv , notice how the boot go's to a small diameter of the joint , std crap shafts the boot is the same diameter as the joint

No its not, SRi's never came with 22 spline shafts. You will only find them on GTE's/TD's and some early H reg GSi's.

I managed to get some from my local motor factors - their drivelink (the company that makes them)

I just asked for GTE driveshafts and it turns out their 22 spline.
