Gearbox Noise

Got another question, When pulling away in first (Nova 1.4i) and only when the engine has warmed up I get a sort of a tapping noise (like a single tap on a drum!) either once or twice as the clutch bites, same thing happens when I change from 1st to 2nd but not in other gears, if I make the change VERY gently it doesn't do it. :?

Someone suggested it may be the exhaust or engine mounts but I can't see anything obvious, don't know if its related but I get very occassional bother when trying to change into 5th gear.

I know it doesn't help but I think it may be Vauxhall Gearboxes. My SR doesn't like going into Reverse, first or fifth.

The corsa (2002) I learned in had similar problems and my mates corsa (1994) doesn't like fifth or reverse.
