im gonna be upgrading my exhaust manifold sometime soon, but the gasket ive got doesnt fit properly across all 4 ports on the new manifold.. however, per port is a good fit.
all the 8v's have the same exhaust port layout dont they ? as this exhaust is from a 1400 to go on my 1200.
is it ok to chop the gasket into pieces like this when fitting it ?
whats the betting ive been given the wrong gasket lol

ive found the same. however instead of cutting it up you better off placing it on the head and using a dremel to port match the gasket

Yes all 8v exhaust ports are the same. Burgo's method works well for me too although [if your head and manifold haven't been port matched] I would offer the gasket upto the manifold aswell and dremel away if required...

Had the same thing with mine, all the ports on the manifold fell withing the holes of the gasket, so lined it up, marked it and stuck the rotary file bit in the drill and opened the manifold out, by as much as 4mm in a couple of places!

What manifold is it that won't line up?
