Looks aweful, has next to no floors but is straight and solid and well worth the money.... (excuse the ****ty pics)

1980 Opel Kadett D (Astra Mk1) 1300s.
No engine, box or running gear, no interior and been parked in a hedge for 7 years. But its solid as fook. Needs a set of new floor pans, but I'm undecided whats going to donate them (i'm thinking maybe a Manta or Cavalier 4x4) But at the moment, its sitting like this until I finish up some more of what I have parked here atm. Also, a word of Coolness, Cav SRi Front Struts and rear Beams are a direct swap so instant Big Brakes!!!
My mate has an orange saloon in a similar state, although it was him who took it to bits a couple of years ago. He was wondering what to do about the brakes, cheers for the info- I'll let him know!

This one was totally original even down to the pioneer retro stereo and big door speakers.
I love the astra mk1's - me mum used to have a X reg GTE in brown with gols centre panels along the sides!
kept getting keyed so the police fitted an anti theft/shock device - it was basically a car alarm with a little pendulum in it - fecking thing was free but absolutely sh1te! If you parked on a slight incline it went off!

As said it is on the back of my mate's truck and ready to go to ireland.
I followed the truck to make sure it wasnt going to a breakers yard.
Thats when he told me it had been bought by somebody in ireland and wanted it shipped over from pool.
He is a good mate and keeps his eye out for Nova's for me so best keep in his good books.

Did that SR saloon come from Waterlooville in Hants? Looks like my mates old one.
Not sure mate.He said it was picked up from pool way.
There was no plates on it and i couldnt find a reg on any of the windows

Well as there is no floors this means they are exempt from the statement as they dont exist.
I wanna keep it brown, have a Creame GSi Cav Interior to be fitted but just wanna fit some solid SRi130 type Cav head Rests and lower it to the nuts. I also got a set of deep dish'd Mim Wheels, 7x15 with an et25. Should sit all euro style!!

I didnt buy it, I aquired it 100% Legal like. Anyway, theres oly 16 at tem moment anyway, but some are gonna have to go as I've seen something I want.

Ah I'd love a GTE kit for mine but on this side of the water they're non existant.
Hmm i had an old opel kadett sr in that lovely brown colour, i loved its but never saw the road as i couldnt afford to do anything with it so sold it to somone that was gonna rebuild/rally it.

Ah that was a saloon one. Note the differences in the boot.
Been hunting about today and foumd a storage of parts for one in a Scrap yard and possibly a second Kadette Donor car. GOing to view all tomorrow so I'll keep you posted.
never noticed the boot! i actually had another mk1 astra that i used for racing, 1 lady owner, £10 later..

I'm sorry lads but at the moment I have more important things to spend my money on than a Camera, and as I live in a €350,000 house, I'm no Gyppo.
I'm gonna restore the body first, theres an XE in a Cav at the house that may be donated, a nice set of 7x15 Dish'd wheels with a crule et25 so I'm thinking Euro style.
aparently there was only 4 sr kadetts left according to the guy selling my old one on mig, i sold it for £200!!!
Think mine might of had pioneer speakers in it but dont really remember.

The ex TV Staff one (horrible Green Colour) is now in Co Cork and the lads registered on www.totalopel.com (http://www.totalopel.com) as well so he's helping a lot but I doubt those figures are correct.
Went to look at the other Kadett over the road from me but its a total loss, rotten through and through. Plenty of usable parts but not worth the hassle of trying to move the car as I'm pretty sure it'd fall to pieces.

Rusty and ill looking areas sprayed black to tidy the appearence. Also, got a set of floor pans today. Sorted.

Not much done since, I got a set of new floor pans and a set of lights for it but thats all. Its staying put for the moment.
