Anyone knocked one up before? I followed this guide which I'm sure is well known http://www.vwcaddyforum.com/showthread.php?t=1864 I had the parts cut out a while ago and have only just welded it up - never had the right type of scissor jack and kept forgetting. It is nice to see they have a use apart from assisting in amputations though.

I will try it out tomorrow on a mates car we're breaking before we weigh it in.
Not bad for the grand total of a fiver. Always a handy thing to have - using it effectively is another matter lol

Mine could be better, the M10 bolt is too long and a couple of other things but will do for a 20 min job.

will that work - the wheel doesnt look as if it will reach the arch even when fully extended? good job in knocking it up though

Yeah it works, well it reaches the lip on my Nissan - although I haven't attempted to roll the lips on it.
That's why I'll be tackling the scapper mazda 323 today lol

You adjust the height by winding the jack handle and you can move the 'roller' by sliding it up/down the plate and locking in position with the nut and bolt.

There is room for improvement in the design no doubt, but gotta be better than a baseball bat or a scaffy bar Lol.

DIY FTW dude. How much was it 200+? I would rather have a ghetto inspired one and 200 quid for something else. I don't spend loads on my cars these days so they don't get fancy use once tools lol
