And this is after I have tried to get it down by adding older people ect.....

Surely they cant do that?

Yeah, sadly I cant do that on a saturday night to prove how much of a loser I am.

It gets better as well as my current insurer is coming up with this:

Have I done something I'm not aware of lol?

Hahaha renewal will never be cheaper!
Ring about and you'll get the quote down.

It should be cheaper, they should reward me for not crashing into expensive cars.

phone them and tell them you dont want to renew because you have been quoted cheaper elsewhere, they will probably match it or beat the quote you tell em.

lol lol Do you really beileve that?
Never hasppends, they find to many other things that can cause it to go up, cars stolen in your postcode, terriosum, birds flying in the sky...
But as above as rich said, get a few quotes and they will normal match it..
Hic gave me a renewal of 800+ i rung about and got it down to 250, they matched it and gave me free brake down cover..

Comparison websites FTL Phil! Do it the old fashioned way, use the phone :p

Admiral dropped my renewal by >£200 when I rang them up and all I said was "My policy number is xyz, I just had a renewal letter, and I'd like to cancel the renewal thanks" lmfao

/me takes note. Last time I just accepted the renewal from flux as it was about £300 cheaper than the time before.

The phone sucks, I spent two days on it trying to insure the TVR and million different people telling me it wasnt going to happen. The I went on a price camparison site and got it straight away lol

My insurer quoted me (for example as i dont know the real numbers) £250 to renew. The exact same policy details input into their own website as a new customer came out at £210. So i cancelled, and had a new policy number. Idiots then wrote to me asking for proof of no claims entitlement. I have been insured by them for 4 years now i think.

lmfao, Sky asked me for proof of no claims on my Celica when I took out a policy on the Nova. I rang them up and asked if they could provide proof of no claims, and to save me to cost of a stamp post it to themselves lol

It's a joke isnt it. Why do these companies not have software that can check to see if you are an existing customer before they produce a letter and have someone put it through the post system? Shares in royal mail maybe.

They should stick to food......

You wouldnt call direct line for a take away, so why should Tesco be any good at insurance? Its not like they dont make billions of profit anyway. [rant over]

They make billions of profit, which is how they can afford to compete in the finance sector as well as the retail sector.

At the end of the day, insurance is insurance, and my step-father is an insurance loss assessor so i consulted him on my current tesco policy small print to see if it was any good before i renewed. Its fine and nothing obviously wrong with it, so why look elsewhere?

I see your point, however without looking into it they either farm it out to another broker anyway, or use their own call centres etc. I've no idea which but I just wish companies would do a proper job of whatever they persue rather than 'oh theres money to be made here, lets give it a go'.

I do know that Tesco use Love film to operate there DVD rental scheme. My Mrs switched from Tesco to love film, as they are 50p cheaper a month & the Tesco DVD's came in the post labelled/sent by Love film anyway.... See what I'm getting at?
