leccie windows not working

recently my windows have suddenly packed up. now i have tested the motors and they are working correctly and theyare getting a feed . are there any relays that i can check or are there any helpfull tips you can give me. also check that the switches are reversing the polarity and they seem to be doing this, but 1 of the switch has quit a high resistance reading. the cars a sri with gsi engine. many thanks dyl

Has the loom got an earth it originally located in front of the hand brake under the carpet???

ye fella it has. is there any fuses or relays i can check as i dont have a haynes manual. cheers dyl

sounds like an earth fault or switches if theres powers at the switches. the power comes from the black wire (fuse 11) plugged into the right hand side front of the fuse box and goes to the switches. they do the reversing polarity and the switches have an earth at them too.

im using escort mk5 switches in a custom centre console so i supposed a variety of switches can be used
