A drunken game me and my mates used to play, Truth or B*ll*cks, might work quite well on here.
Essentially just like that true or lie show that angus deaton is now hosting... make a statement about yourself and see if people think its true or not.
Eg. I almost lost my left hand in an accident in 1997. True. I almost lost my right leg in a horrific hedge trimmer incident in 2004. False.
So, who wants to go first? lol quickly, before the idea falls on its ****.
Ok, I'll go.
I have a significant Criminal Record.

I reckon this is b*llocks. A mischeivous youth maybe, but apart from hoarding a large stockpile of stolen hatchbacks i dont believe it.

i say truth?
.Covicted of Traffic Offences
.Was cautioned for being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a member of the Gardai
.Was bound to the peace.
First one was me driving an "Open Driven" car at 17 but apparently the policy didnt cover me because I was under 21.
Second was when I witnessed 3 cops beat the **** out of a lad that had just been attatcked by 2 other lads and was trying to fight back. I stepped up to defend the lad (being clubbed by 3 cops after a beating by 2 random folk didnt seem right to me), got clubbed a few times and put a cop sitting on his ass in the middle of the Main street on a Saturday night and upper cutted another. I was cautioned then and there and walked away.
3rd time was again stepping in to break up an fight. I then got punched by someone and lost it. Dont remember much as i was drunk but apparently I Caught a Cop and tossed him out of my way.

31-07-08, 01:04 PM
where did this happen?
Bollox.
Les Battersby is a fictional Character.
wisewood
31-07-08, 01:07 PM
where did this happen?
The actor who plays Les Battersby did a public appearance at the club i used to work at. He arrived completely in character and remained in character during his whole stay - even when just speaking to staff behind the scenes etc... so while i was not actually with "les battersby" it was les battersby i was sitting with.
It was The Zone/5th Avenue in Rotherham. Somewhere between 1998-2000 when i worked there. :thumb:
Truth or Boll*cks??

(till the next time he comes on!!)
wisewood
31-07-08, 01:56 PM
It's 100% true. He was asked if he wanted a drink before he went on stage, he had the choice of anything in the club - he asked for tea. The bar manager then got called away for some urgent front of house stuff and left me with him so i sat for 10 mins or so and had a cup of tea myself.
Very surreal. But absolutely true.

Rubgy.
Your Welsh, True. Go to be Rugby. Its in your blood.
wisewood
31-07-08, 02:08 PM
I reckon this is true then. Had you said football or sprinting i would have proclaimed this to be b*llocks having seen the size of you, but with your size and build rugby is perfectly plausable.
i say true and i say a flanker or hooker?
Welsh Dan
31-07-08, 02:09 PM
Correct, it is true. I played 1 match for Wrexham under-16s before the docs changed my asthma meds and I had to quit :(. I can't remember the position I played tbh, I think it was flanker. For school I was right prop.
OK I got one. I ran a 100m sprint along side Daley Thompson in 1987.
wisewood
31-07-08, 02:18 PM
So absolutley random it just has to be true!!!
hmm you would of been 12, so i say yes as it was at school maybe ?
Its False. I broke my nose one week earlier playing rugby and was advised not to run. My best mate at the time jumped on the opotunity and I had to watch. It was a school sports week.

wisewood
31-07-08, 02:47 PM
True. Definately.
What do you mean swore at Kylie? Did she spill your pint or something.
true. probably when she was on the telly, "id **** you"
lol.
I was attempting to hang a plasma up in the refectory of a theatre in the west end (an old school heavy one). I was on my own, sweating, and struggling like feck. I couldn't latch one side of the bracket on. I remember managing to do it and not saying a word while I was struggling, no swearing or anything. I turn around and theres Kylie with one of her aids sat right at the table in front of me.
I say the first thing that comes into my head. 'Fcuk! Sorry to disturb you!'
She seemed to appreciate it lol
Epic. So is she really 2" tall?
I wanna go
I've had a hug off Marilyn Manson ;)

I can stick a whole cotton bud up my nose.
Intact? :p
I had to take my ex to hospital because his nose didn't stop bleeding for 6 hours. We waited so long in A&E that the ears, nose and throat was closed for the night. By this time he'd filled a kidney bowl thing with blood :( The bloke in A&E stuck something up his nose which resembled a l0lly stick, it looked really, really painful! When they pulled it out it looked like a Super Plus.
that's gotta be true dar!
Yup true and yes intact RJ. Makes me sneeze though.
Err I say true Lynz
I'd say true lynz, as I've had similar - not nice.

In my youth i was on the verge of getting sponsorship from a global water-sports brand for my efforts in slalom water skiing.
Truth or B*llocks.
wisewood
01-08-08, 11:26 AM
haha knew you'd say that. No. tis true. The year i smashed my wrist was the year i was being watched by their people in all the competitions i entered... only a few took place before i broke my wrist in july. Then couldnt water ski again after that.
I was generally considered to be a natural talent. Only started water skiing at all at age 13. By 15 i was under 17 regional champion lol and 1997 at 17 i was entering competitions nationally... in a bid to get sponsorship so i had a realistic chance to compete with the big boys from age 18. Never got the opportunity.
I wanted to become a pro bmxer until I got into cars then quit...?
