View Full Version : fpr and swirl pot help
i'm on building a c20xe on twin 40's, i know i will need an adjustable FPR, would this one be suitable? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-UNIVERSAL-FUEL-PRESSURE-REGULATOR-GAUGE_W0QQitemZ380049519364QQcmdZViewItem?hash=ite m380049519364&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 and as i still have the standard 1.2 8v spi fuel tank would it be worth fitting an external swirl pot? i dont think my standard tank wil have one. cheers

Doesn't say what pressure it goes down to, you need one that can drop it down to between 3 and 5psi for carbs.SPi fuel tank will have a swirl pot built in, as injection pumps don't like gulping air.
nice one, seen a lot of cars with filter king fpr's one so would assume these are the best ones for the job? pretty inexpensive just that one was anodised red and would look smart in the engine bay (tart, i know)

Just checked their proper site (not the e-bay page) and they say it's adjustable from 0 to 10 bar, so should be ok to run with carbs if you have it set right down to about 0.2bar.

I'd sooner trust a bloke holding the pipe than that FPR lol

pmsl stuart, think i'll go with the petrol king/filter king jobbie, or nip the pipe with a paperclip lmao. from 1.5 - 5psi on fse petrol king, that should be ideal yeah? what should i be running, 'bout 3?
What fuel pump are you using?
Just get a £20 reg from Demon Tweeks/Ebay then.
Dont need a swirl pot for carbs either.
