Do that, and then find out what its like to be shagged up the bum with no lube when you have an accident

In my experience, cages dont help matters with insurance for some reason.Have a conversation with a broker and find out what mods are affecting the policy the most, and remove them.

I take it you have tried specialist insurers like Adrian Flux / HIC / Sky?

How old are you by the way. If your under 19 you probably dont have a hope in hell im afraid :(

the thing with flux they are good but dont insure anyone with a roll cage. but you can do any other mods and the price dont go up from paying for standard

They are money grabbers because of people like you im afraid.

Who do you think pays for the repairs on a jag when its rammed by a spud in an uninsured car (yes, you are an uninsured driver. If you dont declare your mods, your policy isnt worth the paper its printed on)??

Thats right, us.

Way to go :thumb:

Sorry but that excuse will go down like a sack of poo in court lol.

What if you seriously injure someone? Will you pay them thousands of pounds in compensation as well? Not to mention that the police will enjoy fining the hell out of you for technically having no insurance. Then add thet little lot to the fact that no insurer will touch you with a barge pole afterwards. Not worth the risk in a million years. Then the premiums go up again, thanks to you.

DO yourself a favour and insure yourself properly. Im not trying to argue, or make myself look clever, but this is a public forum and the facts need to be said to prevent more people thinking its ok to do.

What good would that do? Far better to attempt to make them see sence.

....then ban them lol

tell em about everything but the cage cos that'll help you in an accident anyway so why pay more for it :)

A showcage is a cage built for show use, i.e. to look pretty. It is NOT designed to save your life in the event of a crash, in fact it may well do completely the opposite - the reason the insurance company refuse to cover you is because the cage could shear, and you end up with very sharp metal right by your face. When your car is doing the roly-poly thing, sharp metal by your face will put a crimp on your day.

FFS, insuring a car as standard when it has mods is like insuring a 1.0 spin when you actually have a GTE. Would you do that? No.

UNDECLARED MODS = INVALID INSURANCE = NO INSURANCE

Not to mention its insurance fraud, which is illegal and can get you a jail sentence. You're willingly risking being the soap boy for big dave just to save a couple quid on your insurance?

Why bother paying money to insure a "standard" car when you may as well cut out the cost completely and just not have insurance? Yes, I'm overly irate about this as its dickheads that don't declare mods that put my insurance up, as the insurance company has to take money from MY insurance premium to cover the costs when said cockmuncher has an accident.

Anyway. A good example of modding before checking all the details. Always check with your insurance company before modding your car to see how it will affect your policy, and ask them to send you confirmation in writing (CIS did me over with a bodykit back in the day).

As said though, remove the rollcage and try again. Or, even better, ASK them why its been refused, you're well within your rights to (if they can't give you a valid reason to refuse you cover, then take it up with the insurance ombudsman), as that will indicate whats inhibiting your insurance.
