My EPAS has thrown a fit :( i have power steering when i turn left, but not when i turn right :(

It makes for an erm, interesting drive to say the least lol lol

Anyone got any ideas?

Its not the rack, its an electric coloumn Nick.

ooo sounds expensive. having said that im sure ive got a brand new column in the shed

I only paid £200 for a complete S reg Corsa its fitted too! Dont really want to buy a new column :(

Ive heard it could be the column bearing tho (£7.50)

i dont see how a bearing would affect it. sounds more to me as if a sensor has gone defunk and thats its not sencing you turning right

@rse, as it all runs off the columns ECU, so that could be funked :(

I believe this is a common EPAS problem. There was a company called 'Power Steering Services' in London who could repair them.

I have a mate who's a Vauxhall main dealer mechanic, I will ask him about it when I see him tomorrow.

Failing that most scrapyards I've dealt with will sell you a complete column for around £75.

I genuinely didnt know it was a common issue with the. So i take it it is the coloumn at fault judging by your reply?

yep tis a massive problem on the corsa b. Fit an second hand column with motor. (make sure it's good before you buy it though!)

Ive just read how to re-set the polarity so it will steer straight :thumb: its all in that link Colin has posted up :thumb:
