something like this.

You prise the old knackered ball joints open on your current linkage, then pop them onto that one. Alternately lop all of the ball joints off and use it as a basis for a rose jointed linkage which will feel much better.

Any one with access to metalworking tools could make one of those quickshifts for about £2 though.

His isn't a quickshift, only a rosejointed standard one.
