Going to try and trim the 90 degree samco so the filter sits behind the grill and the intercooler im going to hide behind the bumper thats the next thing to mock up might have to make some adjustments to the front panel and some of the pipe work:thumb:

Thought it was time to do abit more work on the car havent had much chance as ive been really busy with work, the pics arent the best as i used my phone.

Right i bought some new flexi brake lines from merlin motorsport

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/flexibrakehoses.jpg?t=1266094942

Ive put my front suspension back on and fitted my driveshafts and fitted new cv boots then put my front wheels back on, just need to sort the ride height out as it "is way to low"

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/caronfourwheels.jpg?t=1266095157

So then i thought i would attack the wiring ive been putting this off but i thought sod it! so i labelled up most of the loom and proceeded to strip my old one out
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/wiringout.jpg?t=1266095184

And this is my new loom ready to go in

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/wiringloomondrive.jpg?t=1266095311

I got the loom in place by the end of the day so its just a matter of connecting up plugs and then wiring my DTA back into the new loom!:d

Right got abit more done on my build i changed my rear solid brakelines

First of all i got my copper/nickel piping and made a copy of the orignal

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/bRAKELINEREAR.jpg?t=1269716135

Then after making a copy i cut the pipe to length

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/Brakelinecutting.jpg?t=1269716301

Then i slid the fittings on both ends

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/Braklinefitting1.jpg?t=1269716368

Then i flared the ends using my pipe flarer

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/Brakelineflaring.jpg?t=1269716462
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/Brakelinefitting.jpg?t=1269716492

Finished and ready to fit to the back of the rear drum, then repeated for the other side

Bit of an update ive finally managed to find some where to make me a new downpipe a local rally team have a workshop by me and i poped down on saturday and had a word and he was really helpful. So if i can get the bends 2 90degree and 1 30 degree from Jetex this week he will do it saturday, well chuffed:thumb:

craig green
19-05-10, 06:20 PM
Thats the attitude mate. Do it once & once properly.
Missing a show is annoying, but nothing compared with stripping it back to go over what you have already (half) done.

Your courtenay downpipe rusty aswell then?

mikec123
19-05-10, 06:24 PM
Yeah it was fooked! It was under the heat wrap so didnt notice it! But took it to a local rally team by me and the chap there wasnt overly impressed with the standard of fabrication and welding!

craig green
19-05-10, 06:36 PM
Its just bits of the original downpipe, welded up to met the turbo & system together.

Infact I thought the silver GSI this engine came from a had a complete custom scorpion system & downpipe??

mikec123
19-05-10, 08:55 PM
its definetly a scorpian custom exhaust system but the downpipe looks like it wasnt made very well couldnt tell you if that was scorpian:confused:

scott.parker
19-05-10, 11:51 PM
The system was Craig, with just one silly big box! lol but now mikes got my old box on it from my power flow system.

Right more progress ive been waiting for my new downpipe the chap has been really busy, but he rang me and said he had made it but just tacked it in a few places so i could try it on the car to make sure it fitted properly.

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/newmanifold.jpg?t=1275727620

So i tried it in place and the last bend that matches to the rest of the system is slightly out, only by about 5 degrees it is a stock 30 degree bend from jetex so i thought it may need a bit of tweeking but thats it the length is perfect and the two other bends are sound. Here is a couple of pics

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/newmanifold3.jpg?t=1275727620

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/newmanifold2.jpg?t=1275727620

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/mikec1234567/newmanifold1.jpg?t=1275727620

mikec123
29-06-10, 05:19 PM
right i took the downpipe back and had the bend slightly adjusted and with help from scott parker it fitted a treat:d so ive just got to take it back to the garage to have it welded up.
