I just found out there that the lead singer from Blur - can't remember his name - and the lead singer from the Gorillaz is the same person lol

Yupp. Damon Albarn created the Gorillaz as a little side project and it ended up in a situation where they were as big, if not bigger than Blur (globally).

Loads of musicians, especially those capable of writing and producing, have little side projects like this, but few of them experience this sort of success. The lad from the arctic monkies has a side-line that is doing ok, but nothing like the level D.A. achieved with Gorillaz.

And no, he isnt dead. But the bass player from Blur is now creating his own cheese lol
