am i right in asuming that you have to bend the fire wall back to be able to fit the SFi box on a c20xe in a nova?

IIRC theres a Lug on the back of the Throttle body housing that fouls it.

The lug hits the heater matrix pipe..

The upper bulkhead can be simply pushed back to give room for the SFI box :thumb:

The actual Box wont fit? Try some of the project threads. I was thinking about something different.

It will fitt just push it hard.
It will not fit if you have a strut brace fitted as you would have to fit a power cap of some sort.

no worries. i think ill get a bar and try and bend it towards the bulkhead slightly. Doesnt need to go far.

Get a friend to push it back wile you do the allen bolts up

The firewall is weak, you can bend it back with your hands to make it fit

there are a few types of SFI box's, some fit on novas others dont. Im guessing you have the latter.

my old XE had an SFi box, the firewall had 2 slits cut in about 1/2" down and 2" across then the metal folded back - bodgery FTW

As Phil says, there are 2 types of SFi box. One type fits better than the other.

1 has lines on the top, other has square cross hatches (older).

I wouldn't bend the fire wall back, either get the SFi box cut down and plastic welded or fit a power cap type thing, if your desperate to get it sorted then i've got a homemade bit that bolts to the throttle body and a Vectra Ecotech pipe (like in Ernies pic) if you wanna use it untill you get summet sorted ? might even sell it ?

Gonna need to come and get that spring back off you tomorrow night ! (i'll ring you !)
