does anybody know how to identify a normal F16 from a F16 with close ratios?
cheers
Look at the gearbox number...
One will be F16W (wide) followed by a load of numbers and the other will be F16C....

what vehicles did the CR box come in?
SRI Cav usually.
Only early ones, later were all F20 (on teh XEs) the Ecochavs were F18s
Best best is an 8v Astra GTE or 8v Cav Sri (130)
the box off my 1990 cav sri 8v has f16 on the box, not sure if its got anything after F16 though!?
It'll be a CR Box. There'll be 3 numbers after that, then another 3. IF they're close, (ie 315 - 370 or something similar) its a CR Box.
Been out working on it today and had another look at the box and all it says is F16, no numbers or anything after it. ???

Your not looking in the right place - its not where it has a big 'F16' on it - its stamped on the box to tell you ratio and FD etc

But there should be some small numbers next to the F16 stamp, a lot smaller, 6 in total.
