the list is endless but as long as i get 1 car done it shouldnt be too difficult to get the 2nd one done.

Now, going by Adams Wiring Diagram, theres a brown wire and a red wire that go to the ECU or Fusebox, but I dont have a Brown wire, nor a brown and blue one.

What I have is as follows.
.Large Red Wire (to the ECU/Fusebox)
.Large Black Wire (with blue insulation under the Black insulation) ??
.Thick red/Blue Wire (fuel Pump)
.Think red/Blue Wire (Pickup Barrel)
.Green Wire (Dash Clocks)
.Blue Wire (Dash Clocks)
.Black Thin Wire ??
.Brown/white Wire (Not needed)
.Brown/Yellow Wire (To be Earthed)

So going by Adams Diagram I'm Missing a Brown wire (I assume to be the thicker Black one ) and the Brown Blue wire for the Dash Clocks, am I right?

Also, wheres the best place to take the loom through into the cockpit?

What I have is as follows.
.Large Red Wire = perm live/to battery
.Large Black Wire = switched live/make sure it live whilst cranking
.Thick red/Blue Wire = fuel pump
.Thin red/Blue Wire = transponder pick-up/black ring thing lol
.Green Wire = tacho
.Blue Wire = coolant temp
.Black Thin Wire = assume to be ecu light
.Brown/white Wire = not needed unless fitting a diag plug
.Brown/Yellow Wire = put to earth only to flash codes

i think this is it

.Large Red Wire = perm live/to battery= Wire straight to the Battrey?
.Large Black Wire = switched live/make sure it live whilst cranking= Wire to where?
.Thick red/Blue Wire = fuel pump
.Thin red/Blue Wire = transponder pick-up/black ring thing
.Green Wire = tacho
.Blue Wire = coolant temp= Needed to make the car run?
.Black Thin Wire = assume to be ecu light = Needed to make the Car Run?
.Brown/white Wire = not needed unless fitting a diag plug
.Brown/Yellow Wire = put to earth only to flash codes

Thin black is the ignition live for the immobiliser barrel pickup.

Join that and the large black wire to an ignition live.
I used the old one going to my spi ecu.
But you could use the main ignition wires.

The wires going into the ignition switch on the Key Barrel? I took the Dash out to help things a little.

Now, while tracing back the wires out of the VSS i noted that they headed off behind the block and reappear in a small loom leading to this. What are the other wires for and are they needed?

Right, I'm ready to put the battrey in place and start the car now, but I jusrt wanna check, I have 3 wires n the Transponder that arent connected to anything, is that right?

Colours?

They are:
.Blue
.Brown/white
.Brown/purple

The Dash Now lights up, but when switched to on (as opposed to engine start) it now shows the EML and Choke Light. They stay on for a few seconds and then flash constantly. Turn the ignition switch to the start engine position, the afore mentioned lights freeze.

BR/BL is for the EGR or secondry air pump or VSS depending what pin from the ecu it comes from

Cant find any brown/viloet wires on the engine managment loom

blues, only one i can find is the TPS sensor

I'm pretty confident that the problem isnt lieingwith them. Any suggestions as to whats wrong?

dod i told you its nothing to do with them. you need to get it turning over first. which has nothing to do with the immobilisor, as you should have used the original nova wiring for the starter and alternator system

I have no wires matching those descriptions on my engine loom at all.

The flashing ecu/choke light is an immobiliser problem, but the non engine turn over isn't as Burgo said.
Get it turning over first and go from there.

Does that black/red not go to the back of the alternator, give me 5 mins and I'll go get you a pic of the back of an X16XE motor I have outside:thumb:

Thats coming from the starter into the plug but from the plug its been taped up as no one said it was for anything. Where does it supposed to lead to?

You should take this wiring off your new engine and replace it with the wiring off the nova engine, this way it will all plug in;)
