last Monday had my tyres fitted

Tuesday went for mot, failed on tyres (tread to extreme), exhaust, horn (not loud enough) anti roll bar bush, n/s/f bearing

changed the anti roll bar, done the exhaust, horn, roll bar bush,
come to take the wheel off and ALL the studs snap on the front, with me just undoing them with a breaker bar, wheel falls off,

the tyres were fitted by 3 apprentices, and looks like the have done the nuts up to tight as they have stretched and broken

do i have a leg to stand on, due to its been out the garage?

edit: other nuts have been cross threaded

they shouldn't have simply snapped on a breaker bar, the threads must have been well distorted when they bolted them up to do that on all of them.

I think you can certainly go round & give them some stick.

What you could do is check what the recommended torque figure is, then go round with a torque wrench, add 5 lbft to it & attempt to tighten them. if it fails, which it will, then they are at fault.

Weren't the tyres e approved?????

the trouble is that they might possibly argue that the tyres caused it but it is a bit tenuous. did you try the other bolts on the other wheels?

tyres are e-approved, just mot man being a nob, taking it some place else

well i have 24 studs intotal

10 are edit, cross threaded
6 have snapped,
when undoing them 7 of them were even loose as in spin via finger tips

Sounds like the idiots just gunned them up without screwing them on a few turns by hand first....
Classic apprentice laziness TBH

Easy fix if similar to other Nissans mate, rotate the hub and tap the studs out.
That's a piss take what they have done though!

I know a good 4x4 place in Earl Shilton called Hilltop, they mostly deal in them.. just make sure your track rod ends are fine because they always reckon one is knackered

& at least 4 hours labour @ 1 kidney per hour.

I think you should give them the opportunity to remedy the work to your satisfaction first.

Its shocking that people are unable to fit wheels, I would hate to see their attempt at doing a head gasket. Well I lie I have had to fix a bodged one before where someone had trapped the loom between the head an block and then started it.

There is no hope for spaz's like that, although you will find that will claim to be really good practically due to the fact that they cant read / write. Fact is they are crap at everything.

You have to be kidding, right?

As for the studs, I dread to think how hard they went at them to do that sort of damage!

Nope its all true, even seen people use exhaust gaskets for inlet gaskets, worrying thing is thats what they do as a job.

my local vauxhall dealer sold the missus an airflow meter when the inlet manifold was loose because they hadn't tightened it up when the cambelt snapped under warranty.

I've heard about garages fitting recon gearboxes then not filling them with oil, then trying to claim the driver was at fault when it melts.

Sounds about right really, there are some right monkeys around. Ive had to tell vauxhall how some of their cars / engines work before which is shocking really.
