no i mean, a tigra engine has four seperate metal bits on top of engine where as a astra has like a cast one where there all joined and has a big bit doin nothin to the left just wondering are they same bhp and any other differences sorry about the vague description 1st time round

Ahh, think i get what you mean.
Your referring to the later mk4 astra 1.6 16v's, which have a central top mounted tb directly on the lower inlet

the engine you are refering to is the astra and vectra's x16xel. this is the low power vesion which has a more restricive inlet manifold and only produces 100bhp as opposed to the x16xe's 106bhp and the c16xe's 109bhp. the x16xel is suposed to produce a little bit more torque than the previous engines.

yeah ive got a tigra with that piece of crap above lol. whats the reason for the restricted inlet. what can do to get the 6 bhp back, change to tigra manifold?

aslo whats the thing that mounts on the exhuast manifold that goes to the plastic box in front of battery cheers ash

Secondary air intake... Its like a fan which blows more air into the inlet upon startup or something gay like that.

C16XE FTW!

The reason for the inlet is to improve emissions and torque.

SAI takes about 30seconds to remove so thats no biggy.
