anyone clued up on compressors ? im looking at getting one for my garage so i have an air gun and possibly try spraying stuff

should be ok. make sure you get an air dryer kit

That filters/dry's the air coming out of the compressor, so it doesn't react with the paint etc

Do you really need as expensive as that? Can get same spec for much lower price.

Buy the biggest you can afford IMO, i've got a small-ish compressor (similar to Ad's link) you can paint with it no bother / inflate tyres / run a blow gun off it but its sh*te for running air tools, i try'd using an Air gun and a cut off tool (small grinder) they would run fine for a bout 5 secs then you'd have to wait for it to build up enough pressure to run them again !
