I currently have a de-cat system on the Corsa but im woundering as i have my MOT soon-ish will it pass with this set up? as far as im aware thats how it passed the last, but not sure on that. Will i need to buy a CAT? and if so how much are they? Would it be better to buy a new system? That way everythings new and in better condition?
It will more than likely need a catalytic converter to pass the emissions test.
Cats are relatively expensive due to the metals used.
if the car was registered after (i think) august/september 31'st 1992 then it will need a cat fitted to pass the mot. unless you have an engine transplant then as long as one or the other (car or engine) is pre1992 then a cat wont be needed.

yer tis on a 97! oowwww!! lol right now i need to decide what will be better in the long run:
1) buy a sport high flow CAT, or
2) buy ****y standard jobbie then remove after test? (tut tut)
Will the 1.4 16v hight flow sport one be the same as a 1.6 16v one?
Just get a second hand one from a scrappy, thats if the yard owner hasn't removed them all already lol
this mot/cat question comes up quite alot
do i need a cat to pass mot?
most of the time ending in a argument lol
