Right, weakness time, gotta admit here that i know next to fcuk all when it comes to do with anything to with ICE, wiring, etc etc.
I've still got my set-up from my second Nova and i've been waiting now almost three months to set it up in my MK3 Fiesta (I know) !

Anyway, i have two 6x9 Kenwood Speakers, a seriously big sub and a small ' two channel ' ?? amp made by Alpine.

I want to set it back up ASAP, but don't really wanna falk out on paying an ICE place to do it as they'll overcharge.

What wires do i need ?
Someone mentioned you can get 'packs' from Halfords that contain everything you need ??

BTW, i have a JVC 4x40w head unit, currently connected to standard speakers.

What shall i do, i'm in limbo and miss not broadcasting HardHouse to anyone i pass !

Cheers All.

Grant :)

im assuming the haed unit is set up already??

for starters remove the old crappers from the rear shelf and fit the 6x9's

connect it to the original wiring and see what they sound like

TBH that SHOULD do it and i dont think u need to rip the car apart for installing phatter cable

as for the amp and sub - get a wiring kit from halfords that matches or excedes your amps power output and wire it up :)

Wire your 6x9s straight up to your head unit (use speaker wire from amp wireing kit-see below). I take it that your amp is bridgeable (means you can link 2 channels and make 1 big one) You need to do this in order to power your sub. It should say in the amp instructions how to do this, but it is usuall done by taking the +ve from one channel and the -ve from the second one and using these as one. Buy a good wiring amp kit as this is very important to get right (about ?25). DON'T BE TIGHT WITH ANY WIRES, this can make a huge difference in sound quality. You will also need some speaker wire to go from amp to your sub(as the stuff you get with kit is not good enough for sub - use for 6x9s). Buy the best the shop has.

Right. Firstly there will be a red wire with a fuse. This needs to be connected to the +ve side of the battery and then to the amp. You will also have an earthing wire. Make sure it is earthed well or you can damage equipment. You will also have a skinny remote wire. This plugs into the back of the head unit (it tells the amp when to turn on). It should be labeled remote on your head unit.

Next you need to connect up your RCA cables. These are simple phono connectors from you stereo to your amp.

All wires (apart from the good speaker wire) will come from the amp wireing kit.
Hope this helps. :)
