Official Billing '08 pics thread

Well, although we had no stand, it was still a very good day.Ive never been Billing before but i know why people say its the best show of the year. Miles more chilled/calm than Pv, kind of wished i had camped over the 3 days now instead of just driving down today.

Weather was awesome, and the standard of cars was amazing. It was worth the trip just to see Dec's Nova Sport off Migweb, stunning isn't the word :eek:
Good to see him and his Dad get a nice trophy from VBOA too :)

Nice to meet up with a few of the usual faces(Burgo,Iainel,Peester,Mazz,Benn, John H, Andy B etc), and meet some new ones (Spanish fly, Keith Robinson & Cormac?, NJ(stunning car btw, even though you think its just "ok" lol )

I was quite suprised by the Auto Jumble, quite a lot of nova bits there, could of easily spent hundreds. I picked up a set of lights for 40p lol
And that was my spending for the day lol

It was my first time there and i really enjoyed it,i only went for today .Excellent venue imo and a really good atmosphere about the place.I think thats due to the sort of people there.No bouncing off the limeters or people just getting trashed and being general to5sers.Will definately go again

Yeah top day! Good to chat to everyone (nick j, adam, dave, james, dec, iain etc etc. apologies for spotting peeps and not having time to chat!) i agree with you ad, one day isn't enough, i wish i'd been able to make it at least for the sat and sun.
Decs sport, nick jacksons super clean carbed xe, the counts saloon, roystons sr, andy bishops let all stand out as the best cars of the show for me. I have lots of phone pics, i'll upload them tommoz.

I camped over from friday night, but something came up at lunchtime on sat so I had to head off early :(. The show was great though, as was the campsite. I will definately be there next year and will be camping the whole weekend.

Dec's car was there and was awesome!! Also picked up the VBOA Chairman Trophy too and JOV's best Sport trophy, Karl got JOV's best nova award and i got best engine bay detail!! :-)

Anywho, agree'd with the JOV nova collection - much more like the good ol' days all clean, different, ideas, colours, styles.. as it should be.
However, note my JOV pics are very few n far between - ran out of memory on the camera. No Dec sport or mk2 astras
Last couple there are off mobile camera, :-(

Was of course, my first outing in my nova. All went without any failiures/ breakdowns - only the hard suspension blunted any enjoyment of the journey there and back..

You know what, how nice is it to see some OEM+ and euro look out there?

So nice to see that "gsi+speedlines" has become so varied, with different coloured speedlines and anthracite bumpers, bumper inserts, vinyl/no vinyl, rear lights, GSI graphics, non-standard paint colours etc.


Lovin the huge camber, and the polished OE wheels on PEESTER's

Lovin the red SR on black steelies (Camber again) with XE, proper sleeper!

Lovin Wilson's Turbo 1600

Lovin the white saloon with the split rims (although it'd look better as a hatch!) again, running HUUUUGE camber!

i came over on the sunday and bumped into adam and iain and adam within 15 mins of being there. so i wondered around with them instead of being a loaner lol. big thanks to iain for keeping me entertained, hes a funny fella for sure. nice to meet royston aswell, hes a sound chap who i chatted to for ages. there was loads of other people i met/saw aswell. car of the show was decs sport but i didnt see that white saloon :(. will deffo be going next year and will be camping as this show is massive and you need to weekend to experience it really

Aye there was a few, we were meant to be towing his cav down, but ran into problems, will copy & paste our mission...


Well, that didnt go so well.

Picked up at 930am, total nightmare from then on in.

Towbar guy was 5 hours late, then decided he couldnt fit it.

Nightmare.

Go borrow a 2.2 frontera, pack it, get ready, 5pm ready to go!

Get 50 miles down the road, hmm, tyre has chewed itself on the trailer.

30mins later spare is on, decided not to crack on withut a spare, so turn the bad boy around and head back up the a1.

Get 10 miles up the road and the spare blows, boo!

Crawl up the a1 on the hard shoulder, 10mph, into the roadworks, free recovery, yeh!

wait forever and a day for the recovery truck to appear, then load the trailer with the cav onto the recovery truck. took us all the way back to the warehouse.

Load up the merc & fly down to billing, 2.25hrs later, we are in the campsite lol.

After that, its a bit of a blur, we took 100 bottles of peroni, brought 19 back with us.

Hmm, fri & sat we killed 81 bottles between us, nice.

Im actually suprised i managed to take any half decent photos!

heres a few, rest can be found in my bucket account.


Still, ended up having a bit of a larf, shame we couldnt get the Cav there, Monty was well annoyed, as i can imagine.
