what are these theyre on the outside just before the butterflys, theyre like a slide type of thing and they make a suckin noise when you open them,
does anyone know what they are

its tha black plastic bits with the little cut out piece that i mean

im sure there something to do with keeping the air velocity higher at lower revs to allow a nice smooth throttle delivery

so if i put them on a 1.6 8v just as normal they should work ok no extra potching about

they are similar in design to an SU carb. that slide will move depending on revs, it also controls the needle so adjusts fueling.

yes, its a CV carb so that slide will depend on engine vacuum. it helps maintain the air speed across the venturi regardless of throttle input.

should just need fixing to a manifold and jetting.

Its how that type of carb works.
So yes, just fit them to a manifold.
