my car is going to the bodyshop in a few weeks time and the man said if I wanted 17's I would have to buy them first so that he can work out where to cut off and trim at to get them to fit without rubbing so I'm after a few ideas of wheels and they must be 5 spoke

No wolfrace are around et40-42 dependent on model,

Azev and dare both do 5 spokes in a vaux friendly et and they look large for 17"s

anything with a ET45 offset style of wheels is down 2 personal choice

buy a copy of total vauxhall and look 4 the PVD add ull find a selection of wheel with handy ET offsets by the price. find a wheel u like from there (think they cover most of the decent wheels 4 vauxhalls offsets) then look everywhere 4 that wheel at a price u like, as PVD aint cheap. mags like max power r good cuz there rammed full of adds

which offset is best, closer to 45 or closer to 49mm ????

well 49 is correct

ideally u want it as close to 49 as possible 45 is ok 40 is getting a bit too far out but ive seen em as low as 38

really it puts more pressure on the wheel bearings and might make the car handle differently thats about it - apart from obvious clearance problems with the wrong offsets

btw - i posted about your exhaust in mols1.2i's post dont know if youve read it

u said u fitted a full magnex (i think) system including manifold to your 1.2i

the 1.2i uses a lambda probe to control fuel mix and also has a cat

as i mention in the other post i could see it running without the cat but not without the probe - so what did u do? drill and tap a hole in the manifold for the probe?

Breeny said on a previous post that if you fit anything above et45 on 17"s that are 7" wide (most 17"s are) that it would rub the inside edge on the suspension so he said that et45 are the perfect fit for 17"s

just a point... The three spoke GSi standard wheels are only et47.5 :!:
