I have forgotten what size speakers you can fit in the doors without cutting any of the frame in the door.
Please could someone tell me the biggest i can fit in there.
Also what's the depth i get from the card to the door?
Also if i have electric window motors will i have a problem?
Thanks

Also who was it that cut the card out the back of the GSi door card then put a speaker behind so you couldn't see it?
Load of people have cut the plywood ****e away so just the material remains to cover the speaker mate. As for what will, won't fit why don't you break out the tape measure?

Because it's chucking it down outside and my garage is that full of junk that you wouldn;t be able to open up the doors for ages to work on the car.
Does the material not muffle the sound?
LOL seems to be pissing down everywhere at the minute - at least your garage never got flooded!
Yeah it will muffle the sound, but not by a lot IIRC mate - it's not something I would do, but my mates mk1 was like it and unless you've got IASCA quality components say, It will be fine.
You could always glue the ply back in place I guess if you didn't like it.
As for the rain, I would go to a disused petrol station / multi storey.
I have changed brakes, an exhaust and installed audio in a certain one in Newcastle many a time lol

Aye.
I didn't want to cut my GSi doorcards but unless i can find another set with holes then i will have to as i want some good sound quality amped up in my car as i'm getting sick of my bass not distorting but can't turn up much because the speakers do :(

I've got 13cm ones fitted in my doors with no problems whatsoever, you could probably fit 17cm if you wanted to. Depth wise, the full width of the door, where I fitted mine is below the smaller window, so in front of the leccy ones.
I can't find a pic right now or I'd post one.
Part of me wishes I'd used pods though.

Never used fibreglass and to get some original nova pods will be expensive.
When I measured mine, I'm pretty sure the width of the gap in the front hole was something like 16cm.
