Some sort off t**er you are mate. Look before you think you know it all and post balls yourself. It a std engine with magnex exuarst and green cotorn air filter. NO NOS, NO TURBO.
Come to USC and ill show you what a fast std Nova can do.

Good driver(s)
Car stripped to fook(hole sawed doors etc lol )
Rear suspension replaced with solid poles to stop it "squatting" when you floor it, meaning better traction :)

Has welded diff too if I remember rightly so that will have an effect on the times.

Ash
10-07-08, 08:07 PM
Correct me if im wrong but a welded diff on a fwd car should mean you can't turn....

Awesome time for a XE btw

Mike

^ How you figure that Ash?

djbrowney
10-07-08, 08:11 PM
yes your are wrong mate, but its an absolute ******* mate, you can turn corners you just gota keep the car rolling, 3 point turns is a definate no no thow, try a 21 point turn lol

Jack
10-07-08, 08:13 PM
It will turn but the wheels won't rotate independently? Making turning harder lol

Think I remember hearing about someone taking a shaft out to drive on the road with a welded diff for this reason on a FWD.

CP
10-07-08, 08:13 PM
It will be able to turn but not freely and easily

djbrowney
10-07-08, 08:19 PM
when we first put the car together we were out testing (on a private road of course) snapped one of the shafts, didnt actually realise we had snapped the shaft until we got back because it still drives on one lol

lol Thats a definite benefit then, when I snapped mine I couldn't do anything!!

djbrowney

was stood there scratching my head for a bit, could see the shaft hanging out but it was still driving :tard: but then it clicked lol

hmmm, that does surprise me. I thought the inside wheel would need to turn slower to be able to turn the car... I suppose at speed it's not a problem really tho.

you should be in it when you turn of the srip at the end, it rattles you to bits, the marshalls at the bottom always seem to find it highly amusing lol

It does. It will just kind of jump/drag the other wheel as its forced to turn at the same speed

Its also done a 12.5 with gas with a different owner as well? Im sure its done a better time than 13.5 off gas as well though.

Lee H

Think the best Gav and Jonboy managed without gas was 13.7.
