View Full Version : Mk2 Head light fitting
Right, the wee white plactic clips that fit under the head lights, whats the best way to fit these as they always seem to break on me during removal.
Do I...
a. Fit them to the head light first and then to the car?
b. Fit them to the car first and then to the head light?
Also, how do I fit them to the headlight as they seem very brittle. Heat them first, put them on sideways and twist them on correctly?

fit to the car then clip headlight in
to remove them when the headlight is fitted get a pair of pliers in the inner wing and squeeze the lugs together on the clip and lift the light out with the clip on
The lugs in the clip always seem to break off when I'm doing it.
Obviouly the Lug on the rear of the headlight is larger than the space between the 2 wings on the Clip, thats how it fits, but when the headlight lug is pressed into place, one of the wings on the clip breaks. Should I heat the Clip to soffen it or any suggestions?
Buy lots of them, IIRC they're not that expensive from vauxhall
Ah they're still available?
Is the part number on them or does anyone have it?
I have a few spares here, as said above clip them to car first then clip headlight in... how many times you gonna have headlight in and out of car anyways...
Still available from vauxhall anyways!!
Well I wanna fit the lot this evening, then adjust the panesl to sit flush on the SX, then the other 4 Novas as well. lol
Right, just contacted Opel and they have 2 in stock, €1 each. lol
