they are not sport carbs btw, the manifold is but the carbs themselves are not original sport items..

well how do you know that i was told they were when i bought them and as the bloke had a sport in his drive when i bought them

ok here goes. the sport webbers have codes 144 and 143 on the float chamber covers. each carb also has a vacuum take off for the vacuum advance on the dizzy. if you want a pic of my genuine sport carbs to see the difference just ask. cheers

i thought the only way to tell was by the numbers on them

no, the genuine sport webers will have 143 and 144 on the float covers. then the main difference (not just numbers) is on each carb there is a vacuum take off for the dizzy. look at this pic of my sport 40's. you can clearly see the vacuum take off on each carb

well i actully think thats a reasonable price mate and would be willing to take them off your hands, i would rather pick them up but you do live an awful long way from hemel hempstead lol but mayb you could send them, also as a wonder what else had you had done to your engine? and what sort of noticeable power gains did you get? thank you for your time.

Funnily enough, I'm pretty sure Martin does still have them lol

I shall ask him if he's still got anything worth selling and reopen this thread if so.
