Anyone know a good usful website?

Im lost about what i want to do. Ive been doing an apprenticship for vauxhall as a mechanic for 3 1/2 years now, about to qualify as soon as our college sorts itself out. (went bust:roll: )

The money should finally go up once i get my papers but i want out. The trade seems to be going downhill and its just not what i thought it would be. Not sure what i want to do, looking for ideas.

I have no qualifications from school, but now have nvq's in maths, english and IT through my apprentice program, including the qualification i get for mechanics.

I know everyones different and enjoys different things, but has anyone found themself in a similar situation?

i know what you mean about the trade bud - im a panel beater for audi and ive just been faced with redundancy, hopefully the next few weeks should hold some news, theres other types of mechanics jobs not just cars boats, hgvs etc vans and commercials etc etc - your best bet is to visit the carrers office and job centre and see what advice they give you? there maybe another job within vauxhall that youd prefer - pdi tech etc?

one of my mates was paid off a few months ago - he now drives a train (local network) its good money and the training was provided, theres also maintenance work for the roads/rail

being a mechanic isnt the best paid job in the world,
main dealers are quite low down on pay scale,
if you plan to stick with the trade try and get in with
your local council (if they maintain there own fleet)
it is alot better job and alot better paid :D

im in the same situation, im sick of the motor trade but theres nothing else im qualified to do! Job centre is useless, most of the jobs i phone about are long gone & the job centre just havent removed it from the site :roll:
