1.2i to 14sr

I am thiking of puttin my mates 14sr engine in my car, justwondering what i would have to change i.e the loom, also would i need to change the petrol tank as i have a 1.2i spi engine at the mo.

Put his car next to yours and work from there.

You need to remove your ECU and Loom as well as your coil and module and replace it with all from your mates car.

the tank should be fine if its spi.

If you're going from SPi to Carb, you'll need a tank as well.

Ok also will a gsi inlet system fit straight on?

no the ports are shapped diffarently the mpi ports are round which are different on the spi/cab engines.

if conveting from spi to carb you can either swap to a carb tank, or you can use a metro turbo fuel pessure regulator which will drop the high pressure feed from the spi tank into a low pessure for your carb..

Hang on, you want to go from a Single Point to a Carb'd enigne, but from there you want to fit a GSi Inlet? Whats the point in that?

Just wanted to see if the inlet system fitted, didnt say im going to do it. I'm gettin the 1.4 sr engine for free so im going to put it in mine, just needed to know what's needed :thumb: Jay

You dont need swap the tank.
Remove the spi pump and replace it with some fuel hose.
Then just use the 1.4sr's mechanical fuel pump as std.
