Where can i get this done? Ive been quoted as much as £300 and as little as £50. Whats the best way to do this? Can i just hold the tube in place with loctite?

Ideally take the head off...

thats then a gasket set + labour.
do it DIY, saves money on labour then.

I have a new gasket set waiting with new head bolts etc...i thought my head gasket had gone but now im thinking maybe its a water way fracture. We did a compression test and all cylinders were fine. We then did a sniffer test using MOT emissions equipment over the head tank and the hydro carbon levels started to rise. Guy then said gasket but surely it would of lost compression firstly?

Anyhow, while the head is going to be off im gonna get it reconditioned. Then either do a porous repair or prevention, whichever it may be!

A local engineering company said they would have a go, it seems easy enough, is there anything i need to inform them about?

Just need to make sure the gallery is clean and use some bearing fit gunk to keep it in place.

have a read through these 2 links, could certainly help.. looks like an easy job to be honest, just make sure everything is cleaned properly so the tube sticks properly and you dont block any oil galleries..
