Thought I’d put my project car up on here and let people see what im up to!
my car started out life as a bog standard 1.2 nova so far ive done the following;
stripped the engine and had the head skimmed, new gasket, oil+ fuel filters, new water pump, cam belt and alternator belt, new disks and pads all round to green stuff pads, whilst doing all that with the breaks I thought id put new braided hose lines on at the same time, new handbrake cable for a corsa which I shortened and fitted to the nova, there was 3 points on the inner arches that needed welding so after having that done got them tarred (sp) and under sealed, look like new now :) other than that the body work and chassis is in pretty good nick! Fitted an e-tech alloy front strut brace and a k&n bolt on filter.
cosmetics
fitted a bonnet skin from quad conversions, flush tailgate and spoiler, gsi alloys tinted the rear quarter windows and boot window, stripped the interior of pretty much everything other than the dash , replaced the standard seats with omp 'extra' bucket seats and omp 3 point harnesses all in black, took the dash out and colour coded that black too.
ice wise:
got a piece of mdf and cut it up so it was a single piece covering the entire floor in the back, mounted a sub flat into the spare wheel well, made some 6x9 frames and cut out a section where the back seats used to be and placed some clear Perspex over it and sealed it all down and mounted my 2 amps and powercap under it fitted a couple of red neon’s to give it a little night time glow still working on the system building some door pods to mount my components in which hopefully should be Boston acoustics :)
still to go:
things I need to get the car finished which all going to plan will be within around 3 months-ish
fit the gsi skirts on
find a good gsi front bumper and put that on
update the suspension to coilovers and change the alloys to a set of 16-17''
then im working on all the body work with a friend and getting every panel looking like new no dints scratches or wobbles in the metal
and finally respray it to a nice and simple black colour
and there we have it look back and admire my work:)!
I will post up some pics of my progress so far and to the end and might bring it to pv shows.... hopefully have this all done by October as I start uni then...if not ill work on the car instead of doing any coursework I might have to do ...sounds like a fair trade to me :D
cheers
