if someone stole your key fob, depnding what you've got on it, ie, remote for alarm, ignition key, crook lock key) could they disarm your car and drive away in it? Just a thought i had that most ppl have an alarm but all u need to do is disarm it and then put key in and drive away.
So could they do that to yours?
They would need my steering lock key as well. Soon they would also need another key fob to open the doors!

You should drive a car like mine Neil - people don't want to steal it even if it is unlocked with engine running. lmao.
No - mine aint that bad... and yeah - if someone swiped my keys they could take the car... but they would have to be one BIG MUTHA F**KER to take my eys and get away in my car... I would't go down too easy.

thanks kinda obvious.. if someone steals the keys and alarm button then of course they can drive it away.. its not like we have seperate keys/buttons for everything all stored in different places!

Neil does - he is sad like that. lmao. :D
and Neil, hopefully by this time next year I wil have it mate...
would get a cheapish one but don't see the point... might as well buy something decent.
I learnt the hard way and my nova, which was also my first car stolen & stripped.
I drive a MK3 bog standard white Fiesta now until June, even on that now, i do things i should have done in the first place.
DiscLock
GearStick to HandBrake lock
GloveBox always left open & empty
Head Unit fascia always with me. (Not even under the seat).
Don't let fcuking scum win.

I know how to do that too micky. :D
someone i know once told me about a way around the steering lock too but not convinced about that one... not gonna advertise how on here though - just in case.
Could also drive mine away if they had my keys but then the Blackjax anti-hijacking on the alarm kicks in and cuts the engine out after a minute if the code isn`t entered on the dash.

They couldnt steal my car if they had the keys... There are a series of kill switches that are placed around the car (discreetly).
The problem you got when you get to much security though is.. they break into your house and stick a gun against your head and you gotta tell them how to get away in it :!:
As micky said Novas are VERY easy to get into and its what most car theifs pratice on when there 11. Obviously you can do easy things to put these off, and in all fairness people arent going to do the above on a modified car as they are to distinctive and recognisable. most cars that are stolen to order must be standard so they can be swapped for another model, the only exception to this rule is people who want a certain part eg: a turbo engine, wheels etc etc....
Most of the time car crime is due to the owners stupidity, just take care where you park it and dont leave things lying around.
if someone stole your key fob, depnding what you've got on it, ie, remote for alarm, ignition key, crook lock key) could they disarm your car and drive away in it?
LOL, Of course they could drive it away...What kind of poll is this? LOL. If you'd said "could someone break into your car and steal it" then you might get a better selection of answers.
I like to think that I've got a fair amount of security, however if a thief wants your car bad enough, they will get it. Even if they get it and then the trakcer system you have kills the engine, they would probably burn it or damage it beyond repair out of frustration.
Leaving your glovebox open and keeping your facia with you at all times doesn't stop them from nicking the back of your head unit and any speakers, amps, TV's, etc that you have in the car.
Thieves are scum. The only way to stop them in my book is to chop there hands off when they've been caught. Bit harsh and medi-evil, but how else do you stop them? Make them do community service - Dont make me laugh!

when i meant kill switches they are like a form of iummobiliser that must be activated by hand to make the car operate, popular ones include include cutting the power to the fuel pump, cutting the power to the starting motor etc etc
they are normally secreeted in various places on the dash, i knew of one guy who had to put his stereo face on to make it switch another one that allowed the car to be started (thats going a little far)
my nova was stolen two nights ago but they only pushed it round the corner from my house coz they couldnt start it coz of my kill switch under the dash which kills the coil but now im left with a knackered door lock and i had to get new ignition . im lucky though they didnt touch the grands worth of ice .

with clifford alarms u can delete the key fobs from the memory so they dont work anymore and u can programe in new ones, so even if u have the keys you wouldn't be able to disarm the alarm and immobiliser !!!!

favourite of the moment around here with the scally is to get a screwdriver and stick it behind the lock barrel - and just bend the door a bit until the lock barrel is loose - then just twist, or shove through hole and push up the bar with finger - bingo - inside the car.
But they are thick around here. :D lol

turning the harard switch upside down on mk2 models turns the ignition on
u'd still need to bump start it or hotwire the ignition to get it to start

turning the hazard upside down dosent bypass your immobiliser anyway, but there is a guide on www.novarally.co.uk explaining how to modify the switch so it dosent happen.
I de locked my car so they dont make a mess of the door i would rather them break a window to gain entry rather than them digging the locks out. but the most disrespectful way has to be bendine the top of the door down to stick there arm in and unlock it- this does p*ss me off.
black jax is a good idea but the problem is they can still get the car that certain distance from the house and then tow it (i know they can push em but most havent got the strength due to the drugs there on)

very true micky, i know most of them as well, one of my best mates reposses cars for hp companies etc, he gets sent new security devices to try to get round etc.
At the end of the day the easeist way is to crawl underneath cut the handbrake cable and tow the car away.
Job done :!:
