Aamir's Opel Corsa-A 16v

Been on the scene for a few years now, quietly hiding & working away
in a little corner, whilst some people like to spend their time
building w.i.p threads, i spent mine building this......

Started life as a basic mint condition 1.6i GSi in Mistral Grey, like this...

Following the simple but iconic look of the 90's it looked like this.....

(After full colour change, 2.0i 16v fitted with full overhaul & new parts, sensors, gaskets, etc)

Tell most people you have a nova & they tend to frown or laugh,
after all it's easier gettin rep just owning a vdub (even if it's a shed)
but where the challenge/fun in that ? (big up chandler's saxo !)

After 8k, inspiration from the Opel scene in Europe,
lots of help from my Brother (DubStyle) & a few good friends;
(Venom Customs, Kelvin Conversions, RS Transmissions, RS Electroplating & PureKlas) it's it's finally finished

(well sort of).......

Whens your mag feature finally happening man? Did TV finally sort it? I heard you might be doing Fast Car?

Interior, side and back end look ace, theres just something wrong with the front IMO, you could be right changing the grill for a stand one.

Think it needs to be smoother, plus I've never liked splitters on GSi bumpers :tard: dunno why.

I'm feelin' that too ;)

Splitter is going for a smooth laguna one (no vents) or any other inconspicuous design

Dod
25-07-08, 11:11 AM
Actually, the splitter from a 1990 - 1992 Honda Accord is a nice addition to them. Very Subtle but looks very well.

Stunning car.

The grille mesh & the laguna splitter will appeal to the Fast Car followers, original equipment seems to becoming more and more popular on here.

The interior is lush......

Aamir
30-10-08, 12:50 PM
Splitter will be changed for a smoother one, but it is necessary as it hides the big fookoff 4-1 manifold (lowest point on the car)
which is still visible to drivers behind me

Standard grille is too fussy, wanted something more smooth, cleaner lines, etc :D
atleast it's a genuine ol' skool courtenay turbo jobbie & not bugs bunny's window :thumb:

Amazing looking car i really like that! My mate had that level of chrome when he had an LET in his corsa, looks stunning.

Rear arch clearance is worrying me now as im putting the same wheels onmy nova, what thickness were your adaptors mate?

Good luck with the sale bud im sure someone will buy it!

Benn
15-04-09, 08:52 PM
Said it before, looks and is fantastic. Few more pics than up on mig.

Lots of clearance with the wheels, thought it would be much tighter.

Aamir
16-04-09, 01:54 PM
There's jack all clearance, rear tyres rub frequently !
Even the outer rim of the wheel occasionally rubs on the inner arch.

There's about 2mm clearance on rear (Arches have been rolled flat) :wtf:

Std. shocks will rub on innerside of the wheel  I had to go for narrow body coillies

I used 20mm adapters & had 3mm skimmed off them.

Both rear arches have been waxoilled, when I return after a short drive, it's usual to find a line of waxoil on the outer rim of the wheel lol lol

gunny
16-04-09, 07:35 PM
lol nice, im running 15mm thick adaptors, yet to get tyres and try them but my arches have already been rolled

It's wool Axminster carpet (oohh-errr :gay:), total pig to fit, not very bendy, had to wet it to shape it  I would of used dye but wanted something plush with deep pile :gay: lol

My brother dyed the carpet in his Bmw E30, results were awesome, I'll find out from him what he used. Believe it or not, ordinary spray paint works too, he did his parcel shelf previously & it looks great, feels slightly rough, but looks great :thumb:

Cheers Aamir. I know paint can be used & tbh I've thought about using model car etch paint which is designed to adhere to lexan body shells, a std Nova carpet is a nylon moulding ofcourse.

No the Nova is still here :wtf: just reduced the asking price to 4500, which is a bargain for a car of this standard :d

:( I assumed wrong, surprised it's not gone though.

Just take it to one of the car shows with a for sale sign on it, it's bound to sell then.

Still a bit surprised at why it hasn't sold but then again people will see it as only a Nova. Only a well loaded Nova enthusats would buy that.

If I had the spare cash, and I wish I did, I'd buy it for the wife. She saw the car and really loves it, she'd drive it at the drop of a hat I'm sure. Shame I don't have 4.5k. If I happen to come across some money then I'll be round yours mate driving off, legally of course lol

You better put up a project thread of your new underwraps vauxhall. Hope it's something retro cool. Couple that with your attention to detail and it should be a cracking car.
