Hi,

Welcome to my project page for my nova saloon 1988 merit with 36000 miles on the clock. It's not going to be a major overhaul because i don't think it needs it. I will however be changing quite alot of parts but without compromising on the nova's character, most of the parts will be coming from my old nova hatch (pictured) which iv'e had for 5 years. I like to let the pictures to do the talking most of the time. Hope you enjoy.

Cheers :thumb:

i got cracking on the suspension last night but had to keep stopping due to it lashing down, i got most of the suspension done but got stuck on the last front shock as the bolt was really siezed on think it going to be a disk cutting job.

vaughanmc

Put some clear ones on it at the front, clear repeaters and twin fog lights :)

burgo
09-07-08, 10:52 AM
whys it still on stilts?

General Lee
09-07-08, 11:40 AM
Im going to put the clear indicators and side repeaters on, and compare see what i like best. The twin fog is going on and staying.

It's only lowered by 40mm, which was ok on the hatch, but i think i need to get some 60mm springs to put on. in the pictures it does have the new suspension on.

The Simps
09-07-08, 11:44 AM
it can and MUST go a lot lower chap.

General Lee
09-07-08, 11:50 AM
How can it go lower with this suspension on?

The Simps
09-07-08, 11:52 AM
change the springs.

get some customs made up or just go coilovers.

General Lee
09-07-08, 11:55 AM
O yeah im going to, i thought you meant you can make it go lower with the springs it's allready got on.

You can, do the pikey thing and get some spring clamps from Wilko Motosave (or similar) lol

That looks a lot more like 30mm to me.

Mine is lowered 40mm (fills the arches a little better due to 60 profile tyres). I've got a bootful of audio, but thats not lowered it much further:

Yeah, since i had the suspension (apparently 40mm) i didn't think it was that low, but then my mate got exactly the same stuff it sat exactly the same hieght so just thought meh. It allways made the car hotrod.

Looks much better with the strips removed

Can the badge not be removed from the grill - That would be something else :)

General Lee
17-07-08, 03:29 PM
Cheers

Unfortunately not it's part of the grill and the plastic is quite thick and bulky on this grill so it would be hard to fabricate. Not that fabrication is easy. But i might paint it black along with the bumpers and front skirt and paint the badge red.

LEWI007

Leave the car and the grill the colours they are imo ;)

But the car REALLY Needs lowering

Since last time i have painted the bumpers and grille black. I have brought some cav wheels and painted them black. Not much because i had a job that took all my spare time, but now i have quit so i have loads more time to spend on her.
