Paypal transactions dont show up on your bank account for 5-7 days so not sure how youve had two transactions go out?

Payments going out to them show up instantly, it's only when you're taking money from them that it takes a week!

Bloody annoying it is!

Did you pay by card or bank transfer?

Paypal went on a mission recently to get everyone to setup their accounts to do bank transfers instead of always trying to use a credit/debit card - and they will automatically default to this unless you specify otherwise, and even then it will pop up with a message advising you against using a card. Why? Safety and "buyer protection" apparently. Really why? Its because bank transfers are free for Paypal, where as credit (and some debit) cards incur a cost on their part to take money. You'll also note paypal lie and say bank transfers are instant, where as in actual fact they do take up to 5 days to show up on your statement. Again, card transactions ARE (relatively) instant, and come up with the seller's name (e.g. paypal - <seller id>), bank transfers just say "bank transfer, paypal" and the amount.

Moral of the story, always use a card where possible :p
