Clutch problem?

This is probably the result of a knackered clutch and I'm very sorry if it is, as it would then be a daft question.

When in neutral especially, and the clutch is more than 1/2 pressed, the car feels fine, however when the clutch pedal is not pressed at all (at the top i mean) the revs drop slightly, as if the clutch is dragging....but in neutral?

Is this just a knackered clutch, or could it be something else?

Thought it could be a common wear problem.

thats perfectly normal. even when not in a gear the gearbox is still engaged and turning the input shaft?? which causes drag hence the revs dropping

Ah cheers Burgo, never noticed it in anothe car before, however never had another car stripped out....so many noises you dont notice happen till there's no material :P
