i have a 1.5td nova van, today went to the van and wouldnt turn over, i noiticed it was a bit slow to turn over yesterday as tho the battery was dead, changed the battery today and stil it does not turn over, not even a click from the starter motor, does it require a new starter motor??

Are any lights showing on the dash?
I've read many threads on various vaux forums about bad earths causing all manner of issues on these ISUZU lumps. Just prey its not your alternator at fault.
check the gearbox earth strap. mine was bolloxed but it still ran cos it was earthing through the brake pipes lol. does sound like your problem tho

Try a jump lead from the engine to the battery as a substitute earth, if it starts ok then a new earth is needed. If it doesn't it could well be the alternator thats goosed.

No the thick cable from the starter is a positive direct to the battery. The main earth between the engine and the body should be on the end of the gearbox, it's a flat braided strap.
Like I said the other day, get a single jump lead and attatch it to one of the lifting eyes on the engine at one end and to the negative terminal of the battery at the other, if it turns over any better than the earth strap is most likely the fault. If there's no difference then I'd say the starter motor is funked.
Just to check.. the battery isnt flat is it? mine turned over a little and then stoped and just clicked.
Are both Battrey Terminals on Tight?
