Hello all,

What engine could i nick a single-V bottom pulley off, with the crank sensor pick up on it, that will fit on the X16 XE crank?

At the moment, my engine still has the standard multi-V set up, which does fit, but if you corner hard round a left hander the alternator starts to mill lumps out of the chassis leg.

Granted, i haven't helped matters but fitting standard engine mounts(PRAT!!!:tosser: ), but that should be changing soon.

If you could let me know I would be greatful

Cheers
Bouch

No you dont need to change it at all. im using the wide belt set up and its fine.

if you look at my project page you will see the space it has!

you need to find a corsa/astra with a 1.4/1.6 8v engine. generaly its the later c14se/c16se which has the correct single V setup on. you will need the bottom pulley, the alternator (possibly the bracket) and you will need to make you own adjuster to adjust the tension on the belt. Craig Green has done this to his nova and there is pics on his wip thread..

hope this is of some help

Mine is pretty tight even with the v-belt setup fitted. Theres no way a wide belt would fit mine.

I used a 1997 Corsa 1.2i(late engine) single V alternator and bracket.
V belt bottom pully(must have crank sensor teeth on)
And a tensioner arm i madeup from an old metal adjuster with a slot cut in it.
