i assume you have to use two short 22 spline shafts for the outers

XE/LET get the cav equal length setup, fit the mid shaft and get a custom OSF shaft. Had this setup for a few years now.

And where do the 22 spline shafts come from again?

The equal length set up is only on the off-side. You gotta be using big hubs / outer CV's as well.
The only bits you need off the Cav / Calibra is the bracket that bolts to the block and the mid shaft and the inner CV joint.
You then need a custom OSF shaft (available from Chris Astley), then just use your own outer CV.
Definatly worth doing, cuts down on torque steer a hell of a lot.

just do what he will have done......... mock one up with a garden cane or similar. when its the right length, its what you need.
