I think this is prety good to be honest but see what you all think.

Went looking around a scrappy yesterday before dropping mrs Rexy off at work and just happened to find a Tigra with a 1.6 engine in it...

Anyways, it turns over but no fuel so i couldnt get it started which is an **** but. Engine oil is still black, there is still some water left in the water bottle.

Guy at the scrappers said it was a head gasket failure anyways, everthing is there complete so with box, loom, ecu, key and transponder £150.

which isnt too bad, Going looking at a 1.6 tigra tonight in preston for mrs rexy low milage of 53k the guy Yes a guy owns it :S is moving abroad he wants £700 with short MOT and no tax... So that figure should read more like £500 lol so if i can get that for £500 and mrs rexy decides she dosent like it i have a full tigra for the engine on low milage. If not i have a £150 jobbie which needs a head gasket.

Anybody else had any quotes for really cheap engines?

Bury salvage wanted £100 with everything but we couldnt find the key to the tigra so that was out the window :'(

£500 Tigra sounds OK. I wouldnt bother with the failed one tbh unless it gets cheaper..

Cant beat 2.0 XE donor cars with tax ticket though for £350!

thing is... belts etc need changing and i'd rebuild the top endbefore it goes into my nova....

It depends if this tigra goes for £500, cas i'll end up buying that from her and get her a 1.4 tigra :D
