Clutch & Gearbox

Hi guys i need a new clutch anyway as this ones on its way out, so should i put a 5 speed box in aswell i am sick of 4 gears lol

Also which one do i go for and what do i look for when buying one?

What engine? Assuming its a 1.2 or 1.0 due to 4 gears...

Any small Block 5 speed should fit straight in. You need to cut a small piece off at the bottom of the gear lever to engage 5th gear though.

Nova, Corsa, Astra, Cavalier and even some very early Vectras, all under 1600cc, OHC Engines and all Petrol have the box to suit.

Thanks dod helpful as always so if i buy a standard nova clutch kit and a gearbox from another car im good to go?

Even the clutch from whatever car you get the box from, providing its in good nick, should do the trick!

Infact, try the Classified adds in here, I'm sure I've seen boxes go for £20 or in and around that direction. If you'd been closer I'd have given you one.

Since its a 1.2 any of them are dead on. But if you can, try and get one with the acces panel at the bottom, a tin piece held on with a load od 10/11mm Bolts.

Failing that, any are dead on.
