OFFICIALLY:

A537- The Cat and Fiddle road, which runs from Macclesfield to Buxton. What a suprise!

My favorite roads for a good drive are all around the Peak District, including the C&F itself :thumb: It has breath-taking views and some amazing bends.

Also home to the Goyt Valley, definately a place to visit if you're around :D think we should have a NW meet up there sometime. We took Dougie's Cav up and he thought it was great, he certainly enjoyed the drive!

:google: take a look yourselves.

Beware as there are loads of motorbikes, especially on sunny days.

Definately worth a drive but as title, it is the most dangerous road so pleeease drive safely!

We ended up going across that on the way to PV the other week, was a long way round for a short cut !! Absolute corker of a road tho, definatly one of those roads that you've gotta drive at least once.

Aye, we usually do Macc > Buxton (A537- Cat and Fiddle) then Buxton > Sheffield (various routes) then Sheffield > Glossop (A57- Snake's Pass) and back along the motorway. Great fun :D

Balls, I believe the A37 has the most car accidents per mile :p

Wasn't there a program years back about the cops that patrol the A537?

Its literally 5 minutes from my house. During summer when the bikers are out its great to go and watch them, some of them are right nutters.

No where near as dangerous as it once was though, police hit it when the weather is good and they have a police aircraft to moniter speeds.

Those roads round Buxton / chesterfield are the best, I used to go up there at 2am some nights just to ****hole it round on an empty road. However if you do get it wrong your well an truely f*cked lol
