What size bolts?

What size are the bolts that hold the L shape plate under the rocker cover on a C20XE?

By L-shaped plate, do you mean the exhaust heatshield?

guessing off the top of my head they'll be M6, possibly an M8 but I'm pretty sure their M6.

Just read this - I thought you were on about the plug cover.
The breather plate have funny bolts in, think their tapered a bit. I've just thrown a load away too, doh!!

arent they torx bits? most likely t25 if i remember right

Pretty sure there M5 (about 10mm long?), they would have origionally been Torx headed bolts (definatly M5 if they had a T25 head), but you can just replace them with a normal allenkey (caphead) bolt.
