The bolt now sits flush with the metal. Do I need to sort this out as I thought I read somewhere strictly speaking her majestys finest could haul the car off the road??

What's the easiest bodge?

(Must resixe pictures in future ((another fail)))

drill a clearence hole for an 8mm bolt through the sheared thread, then weld an 8mm nut onto it, bend the bracket slightly to account for the now raised nut.

done.

just drill into whats left of the bolt and then eather put the drill on reverse and hope it comes out or just drill it throu. Oh and stick a load of wd-40 around it.
