MK2 Astra engine in MK1 Nova HELP!?!

i've recently stuck a 1.6 8v from a mk2 astra in my mk1 nova merit. anyone have any instructions/diagrams on how to bypass the ECU?

Oh noes, 16sv... I thought they were carbed, hence no ECU :confused:

it is carbed. but i have an ECU with the stupid thing :(

You dont need to bypass the ecu as it doesnt have one. All you need is a ignition live to the coil and thats all you need apart from the back wiring to get it to run.

Also you are sure you 100% have a carb engine and not a spi unit as they look very very similiar?

Did the Mk2 Astras have an SPI??

Have you got Pics of the engine?

Is there 2 wires that plug into the back of the Carb?

No its doesnt come with a spi, but people make mistakes so it could have happened.

late 16sv,s did have a ecu,best thing to do is either wire it up and use it or use the coil dizzy and the wiring for ir from a 1.4sr if you can get hold of it.
