View Full Version : a little bit advise please nova gte e16se engine missing

yesterday driving ma nova it just started to miss changed plugs and leads etc,still missing just had full engine rebuild recently,just wondering if it could be one of the hydrolic liffters or collets maybey been told it could be one of them any help would be great thanks:thumb:

When does it misfire? Does it now do it all the time? Is the engine management light lit? if not is it wired in?

its been running fine up to now its definetly missing all the time,eh when put the foot down to try and clear the miss fire am getting like a little rattle ,al strip her back down and have a look at it just that a got told with it being hydrolic liffters the collets that sit on top of them are pritty bad for snapping ,if a have no joy with it al just have to transplant her again as i have 2 spare gte engines sitting their thanks for your help mate.

Why transplant out a fresh rebuilt engine?

Are the plugs gapped correctly? Does it sound rattly/fooked from top end?

what engine do you have ?

diz cap an rotor arm may be ?
when you took the plugs out did you drop any

its a defenetly top end like a rattle when a start reving it a bit ,never dropped anything down the block or that,av done ruffley about 1000 mile maybey no even that from full engine rebuild every thing is new al just have to get stuck in about thro the week and source the problem ,its brand new rottery arm dizzy, leads,plugs etc.just like its running on 3 silinders maybey even 2,hopefully its sumthing stupid thanks again for any suggestions :thumb:

Just take the cam cover off and have a gander.
