Was wanting to know how much my Nova weighed compared to standard, with its 'heavy' XE engine and f20 'box, no sound deadening but full interior.
A mate at a scrappy let me use their weighbridge:

890kg!!! A lot lighter than I was thinking. Thats with half a tank of fuel too. So 187bhp in 890kg - cant work out the power to weight, but its pretty good!!
Whats a standard GSi weight??

(1000/890)x187= 210bhp/ton :thumb:

For reference an Evo 8 FQ300 is (1000/1410)x300 = 212bhp/ton

strip the interior, bumper irons(jus use ally brackets), perspex windows etc she'll be much lighter/quicker!

Maybe he wants at least some comfort tho? (well as much as you can get in a nova lol )

cant see perspex windows or lack of rear seats being uncomfortable, well loosin rear seats might not be ideal for passengers but fukc em passenegers are heavy too!!

besides i wouldnt feel comfortable getting toasted off the lights, so STRIP IT ans STRIP IT GOOD!!!
you'l get addicted to weight loss and soon you'l have the angle grinder and starrut cutter out!!

Lol, its neither now, its stone chipped to **** and isn't much quicker than a standard XE - certainly not for the extra fuel it uses, lol!!
I'm finished modifying the car any further, its done everything I've wanted it to do (apart from the Nurbergring - but I've just got engaged so am possibly having a stag do out there sometime!!!!!) I was just interested to see what it weighs, would be more interesting if I knew what a standard one weighed tho!!
I'm sure on the Brake Testing Weights poster in our MOT bay at work its about a ton, or maybe even a bit more???

The car gets used for fun now - will tart it up for Billing but thats about it!

lol what a scurrilous accusation lol

Makes me laff watching the did's pick up a car for the scrappy. My mate got em in (yeh I know he's a berk for doing it) and the first thing they did was borrow his hose pipe and fill absolutely everything they could up with water including the petrol tank and the enginelol
