what cleaners

is there certain cleaners u use to clean the surfaces for gaskets to go onto if so what they called where do i get them and hoqw much will they cost?

unsure about head gasket (usually skim it so will be clean) but for rocker (and I presume sump), I used anti silicone cleaner (panel wipe) - alternatively try gunk engine cleaner.

Anything that will shift oil, greese and mate the surface nice and smooth getting rid of deposits will work. Just make sure you dry wipe it off afterwards.

Gunk's about ?5 for a tin from halfords - panel wipe/anit silicone cleaner u can get from most good spray paint shops (carr paints in Mary hill Glasgow)

I used carb cleaner to clean the crappy deposits from the piston tops and gasket area when I carried out head work recently. Did the job fine.
